Balancing Your Writing and Home Life

Summer heat has a way of making you want to relax with a glass of iced tea and a good book. One of the main difficulties of working at home is balancing those relaxing leisure times with actual productivity. Knowing how to manage your time correctly will make writing from home fun and profitable. Some writers find they work best very early in the morning, while others are more creative burning the midnight oil. Following the schedule that works best for you and your family, will make you a happier work-at-home writer.

Many writers find that keeping an activity log helps them to better balance their professional and personal life, at least when they are first starting out. Whether you keep a small notebook or an online log, the most important thing is to be completely honest with yourself.

One of the biggest obstacles to overcome when working from home is procrastination. Putting things off is a pitfall that can sabotage any freelance writing business.

The Writers PLace

Welcome to my blog - The Writers Place. As a freelance writer I wanted to create a blog that would be helpful to writers that are just starting out but also be useful for more experienced writers. A place where we can share our successes, dreams and hopes and learn from one another as we strive to reach our goals. Whether writing is your passion, your hobby or your dream, share your thoughts with us here at The Writers Place.

In the coming days I'll be writing about online writing jobs and opportunities that are available, looking at different writing resources and websites and sharing tips, tricks a trends in the writer's market. I'll let you know about writer's contests that are taking place and as The Writers Place builds its membership we 'll even host our own writing contests.

Grab a cup of coffee or a nice cold drink, settle down in your chair and share your thoughts with us as we come together at The Writers Place.
